10. Correctional system facility objects

  Article 50-Cell
50.1 Cell
A cell is defined as the smallest unit of a correctional facility and refers to the domicile allocated to prisoners as their living quarters.
A cell is distinguished from other forms of living arrangements in that a cell is considered self-contained and primarily designed to house a small number of prisoners, whereas other forms of accomodation may allow for much larger numbers of prisoners to be housed within one single continuous structure.
50.2 Cell structure
A cell shall have four secure walls, roof and floor, separating it from adjacent cells of sufficient width that no natural sound shall travel between them.
A cell shall have a toilet and separate wash basin such that a prisoner may relieve themselves and have access to running water.
